Steve Smith's Jazz Legacy Performs at Modern Drummer 2006

Steve Smith's Jazz Legacy will perform at the Modern Drummer Festival 2006 in September.

The Modern Drummer Festival 2006 with take place at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center  September 16-17 from 12 noon to 8 pm each day. Steve Smith's Jazz Legacy will close the show at 6 pm on Sunday, September 17. In addition to Steve on drums, the Jazz Legacy band line-up will be Andy Fusco (Buddy Rich/Mel Lewis) on alto sax, Walt Weiskopf (Buddy Rich/Steely Dan) on tenor and soprano saxes, Mark Soskin (Sonny Rollins/Herbie Mann) on piano and Baron Browne (Jean-Luc Ponty/Billy Cobham) on bass.

Steve Smith's Jazz Legacy is dedicated to performing music honoring great drummers of jazz and carrying on in the tradition of many of the great drummer-led jazz bands; communicating with music lovers of all generations, striving for excellence and playing non-compromising, burning, straight-ahead jazz.

The entire MD Festival will be filmed and recorded by Hudson Music for a DVD release.
