Steve Smith’s Gear
DW Pedals & Accessories
Steve uses several Drum Workshop (DW) products including a bass drum pedal and two practice products developed in collaboration with the company.
DW Pedal
Steve uses the classic 5000 series pedal with its original skinny sprocket, light footboard, and felt beater.
Its reduced retro footboard and single-chain, sprocket-drive action give this iteration of the acclaimed DW 5000 a decidedly snappier, more whip-like response — one that's much truer to the original.
You still get all the advancements of the modern DW Accelerator era, including a Tri-Pivot Toe Clamp for secure hoop linkage, Delta ball-bearing aluminum hinge for reduced drag, and nonskid rubber grip for movement resistance on wood, concrete, or carpet. A 2-way felt/plastic beater comes stock on the DW 5000AH4 Accelerator single-chain bass pedal, providing your choice of classic or modern kick drum tones.
